Week #30

Lots of progress has happened since the last time I updated this thing! The living room, kitchen, dining room, laundry room, and bathroom were all taped and textured.  After taping and texturing, we needed to prime everything and then paint!  In addition to the inside work, we also got front and backsteps.

Charlie's dad came to visit and helped me with some of the priming on the ceiling.  His sister also came for a few days and helped me finish the painting.  Once the painting was finished we were ready for cabinets!  Our cabinets have actually been ready since June and sitting in Grand Forks.

Cabinet installation in progress!

Bathroom taping and texturing . . .
Laundry room tape and texture . . .

Charlie and I installed SnapStone flooring in our bathroom.  He did the installing (I did get to use the tile saw to do a few cuts) and then I did the grout work.
KITCHEN!!! Well, minus countertops, flooring and a sink . . . but still HUGE PROGRESS!!!

Our back patio . . . I apparently slacked on taking pictures of this in progress.  I also have not taken any day time pics.  I will post some next time.

Same story with the front steps and walkway . . .
The master bathroom (formerly the pink bathroom).  It still needs small stuff like trim, outlets and a mirror but like everything else, it has come a long way.

Week #26

This summer, most of the work felt like it was only on the outside of the house, but lately the inside has really come along.  The electricians finished up.  The kitchen and bathrooms had drywall put up --- this means our bathroom is now a separate room from the laundry room.  The main bathroom is starting to come along (currently we only have the master bathroom).  We have a guy working on taping and texturing the drywall right now.  However, there is still work to be done on the outside.  Due to drainage issues, we had to rip out the driveway and have a new one poured.  The front and back steps should get started any day now -- well probably Tuesday since tomorrow is Friday and its a long weekend.
The beginning of the drywall - and our new recessed lights in the living room.  We decided to sheetrock over the existing ceiling instead of trying to patch it - it was just faster and easier.
The insulation before the drywall in the kitchen.
Our kitchen all walled up!
Bathroom walls!!!
The beginning of the mudding in the living room.
Mudding from the living room into the kitchen.
New driveway!
And of course it rained - those guys are holding plastic up and working under it - ick! BUT they got it done!

I should start painting the living room and kitchen area this weekend and next week our cupboards should be in!
